How to Perfectly Hang a Picture

Learn the techniques for perfectly hanging pictures. Never have a crooked picture in your home or office again. Use these easy tips to hang a picture.

Instructions

1. Find an area in your home where you'd like to hang your painting. Mark this area with an X in pencil.

2. Pull out your measuring tape and make sure you have at least 57 inches from the floor to your penciled in X. Pictures should always be hung at eye level and 57 inches is a good, common height to hang paintings. If there is not 57 inches in between your X and the floor, then reposition your X until adjusted.

3. Hold your picture up to your X. Make sure the middle of the painting covers the X. With your pencil, mark another line on the wall over the painting. This is the are where the top of your painting meets the wall.

4. Flip over your picture frame. You should find an anchor where you can position your frame on the wall.

5. Grab a nail and delicately hammer into the wall directly at the center of your X. After your nail is in place, relocate the anchor from step 4 and hang your picture. You have just hung a perfect picture.
