Take the right preparatory courses in high school. If you'd like a career as a Nutritionist, start by preparing in high school. Courses in economics, biology, and sociology should get you prepared for your next level of training, college.

Go to college. It is highly recommended that people who want to be a Nutritionist get at least a bachelor's degree. It is okay to get a master's degree, but a bachelor's degree is the minimum level of education that is acceptable. The degree should be in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or food service systems management.

Get licensed. If you live in a state where it is a requirement, you'll need to get licensed. 46 U.S. states require Nutritionists to be licensed. The licensing body is the ADA. Good luck!
