Instructions

      Wash vegetables under cool water from the tap. Cut the vegetables to the size you desire with a knife.

      Place a pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil.

      Blanch the vegetables by placing them in the boiling water for at least two minutes. Blanching times may be longer for some vegetables.

      Remove the vegetables from the boiling water and submerge them in a bowl of ice water. Soak the vegetables in the ice water for the same amount of time they were in the boiling water.

      Place the vegetables on a towel and pat them dry.

    • 6

      Place the vegetables in airtight containers or zippered plastic bags made for the freezer. Place the containers in the freezer promptly. Write the date and contents on the outside of the container.
