How to Make Your Own Edible Fruit Arrangement

Are you in charge of providing the fruit for a special gathering? If you're looking for instructions on how to do it right, you're in the right place. In this article I will show you each step in how to make your own edible fruit arrangement.

1. 

   The first step is to size up your fruit arrangement basket. To do this, first determine how many people you will be feeding with it and then select an appropriate size. Once you have determined the size of the fruit arrangement needed, purchase a basket that will fit all of the fruit you need.

2. 

   Select you fruits. Usually it is smart to choose whatever fruits are in season. Also, skip out on bananas and other fruits that go brown quickly. We want your fruit arrangement to stay vibrant and beautiful down to the very last fruit. Grapes, strawberries, melons and other fruits work great here.

3. 

   The final step is to assemble the fruit into the arrangement itself. To do this, you will need green floral foam. Do your best to cut it out in the shape of the basket and then position it into the basket so that the top of the foam is about level with the edges of the basket.

   Now, find something natural to cover up the green floral foam with. I recommend using lettuce. Go ahead and lay some lettuce to completely conceal the foam and even let some of the lettuce hang over the edges of the basket

   Get some wooden skewers to stick the fruit on and then stick the wooden skewer into the foam. This is where an eye for art will be handy. Arrange the fruit in a way that is appealing to the eyes.

Tips & Warnings

• Really do your best in Step 3 to conceal the foam. Nothing will make your fruit arrangement look tackier than exposed green floral foam.
