Step 1
Set up a humidifier in your home. Winter temperatures mean that heaters are used in the home, which can really dry out the air. Using a home humidifier will help restore some of that moisture to the air and in turn reduce your scaly dry skin.
-
Step 2
Reduce the amount of times you wash your face per day. Frequent face washing can strip moisture from your face, leaving it dry and rough. Don't wash your face as much so that your body has time to replenish the skin's natural, moisturizing oils.
-
Step 3
Drink more water. Even if you are pampering your skin and living in a humid environment, if you do not drink enough water your skin will be chronically dry and scaly. It is recommended that adults drink 64 oz of water per day

Step 4
Use a gentle, facial moisturizer without alcohol. Some moisturizers contain alcohol which is very drying to your skin. These types of moisturizers do not benefit your skin condition at all. Check the ingredients of a facial moisturizer before you buy it.
