Typically, after working under the hood of an auto, dirty greasy hands won't come clean with ordinary household soap. Pour about a soup spoon of soybean oil into a hand and splash about a teaspoon of baby powder into the same hand. Rub the ingredients on all dirty areas of your hands. They'll likely be spotless in seconds. (Soybean oil can be found at grocery stores in the cooking oil area of the store).

When a floor has a mildew smell, sprinkle baby powder over the entire infected floor area. Let it stay all night. The next day sweep up any remaining babypowder. If the smell has gone, you can just wash the floor area with a damp towel or mop. Otherwise, use vinegar instead of water for removing any remaining baby powder.

To get rid of black mold, such as might appear in a plastic bowl, lightly sprinkle the black mold with water and then baby powder. Let it sit all night. The next day, the mold should easily rub off. If this effort failed, wet the area with vinegar and sprinkle baby powder on the infected area, and give it another night to dry before rubbing it off.
