How to Add Beads to Crochet Projects
Beads can be added to any crochet stitch, but the three most common stitches are the bead chain stitch (bch), bead slip stitch and bead single crochet stitch (bsc). You add beads to crochet by stringing the beads on the thread or yarn before you begin your project, then incorporate them into the stitches as you construct your project. Crochet thread can accommodate beads with smaller holes, such a size 6/0 seed beads, but pony beads or other large-hole beads will work with lightweight or worsted-weight yarn.
Instructions

1
Place the needle on your thread or yarn. This helps make stringing the beads easier.
-
2
String all the beads you need for your project on the thread or yarn. It's better to overestimate how many beads you need than to underestimate and run out midproject.
-
-
3
Create a slip knot and place it on your crochet hook.
-
4
Crochet your project according to the pattern you've chosen and stop when you come to the point where you want to incorporate beads to the design. Or start with a base chain and single crochet the first row.
-
5
Hold a strung bead up against the crochet hook as you make the next crochet stitch and complete the stitch. The bead is now secured within that stitch.
-
6
Complete the row or round you were working on when you added the beads.
-
7
Do not turn the work if you want to add beads to the next round. If you are working in rows that must be turned, do not add beads until the following row. Beads always appear on the back side of the fabric when you add them to crochet; to get the beads on the same side, you must skip a row between.
