How to Decorate a Rope for a Boat

Wind some plastic vines tightly around the rope to braid the two together. Twist the stems of plastic flowers around the vine and/or the rope. This will create a pretty and whimsical look and give the boat a garden and feminine feel.

Utilize some leftover Christmas decorations by weaving shimmery garland and battery-operated Christmas lights around the rope. Braid the three together for a fun and colorful look.

Paint the rope with waterproof paint for an artistic touch. Create designs or simply add blocks of colors; either will give the rope and likewise the boat a colorful pop. Add some glitter or shimmer paint for a shiny and glistening look.

Wrap lace and/or beading around the rope for a vintage and regal look. Use pearl or jewel topped pins to help secure the materials as well as add another touch of elegance.
