Instructions

  1. Creating an Astronaut Costume

    • 1

Purchase a one-piece pajama set or jumpsuit in your selected color. Research the insignias and markings relevant to an astronaut's clothing and duplicate them by marking the jumpsuit with black tape.

    • 2

Cut a blue circular piece of fabric and attach it to the chest of the jumpsuit. With fabric paint draw the NASA insignia and logo on the blue circle. Create more insignias either by following those worn by NASA astronauts or personalizing them through your own creativity.

    • 3

Add a coordinating baseball cap or create a space helmet. For the space helmet, glue tinfoil to a skull-fitting cap. Place on scuba or ski goggles. Overlap the tinfoil covered hat over the front of the glasses. Secure with tape if necessary.

Tips & Warnings

  • The little details are what will make this costume stand out. Add a belt or make one out of black electrical or duct tape. Use patches or insignias for a professional look. Add a backpack or an American flag for an added touch to the outfit.
