How to Burn Audio Files to DVD With Nero

Nero is a powerful program which allows you to burn files to CD's and DVD for storage, viewing or listening. If you are looking to create a long playlist of music, you can use Nero to add music to a DVD.

  • Computer with a DVD burner
  • Nero
  • Blank DVD

      Place a blank DVD into your DVD burner. Your operating system automatically start the disc

      Open Nero on your PC or Mac computer. The SmartStart screen should pop up.

      On the SmartStart screen, click the "Data Burning" Tab. A window with several selections will open. Select "Data DVD"

      The "Disc Content" window will open. This is the window where you will see what files you added to your DVD and how much room you have left on the disc. Click on the "Add" button.

      A file window will open which will show folders on your hard drive. Browse the folders until you reach the folder where your audio files are located.

      Select the file you wish to add to the DVD. It will be highlighted. Click on the "Add" button. Repeat this process until all files are added.

      When all of the files you need are added, click "Next" in the Disc Content window. This will bring up the Final Burn Settings dialog window.

      If the settings look correct, click on the "Burn" button. The files will be loaded onto the DVD.

      Place the DVD into the DVD player. If the player can read MP3s it will begin to play the disc.

Tips & Warnings

  • A good speed to record your DVD at is 8x. This will make for the least amount of distortion in the files

  • Make sure your DVD player can play MP3's. You can't make an audio DVD so this is the only way a DVD player will be able to play music
