How to Dry Roast Pork Ribs in an Oven
You can cook pork ribs in one of two ways: moist or dry. Dry roasting pork ribs is a popular method on the grill or in the oven. The slower you cook the ribs, the more tender they will become. The ribs can be left in partial slabs or cut apart before they are cooked. For appetizer- or cocktail-size ribs, cut each rib apart and then, using a meat saw, cut the ribs in half. Tips & Warnings
Dry ribs can also be roasted in the crock pot. Season with a rub and allow to cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
A simple seasoning rub can be made from 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup paprika, 3 Tbsp. salt; 2 Tbsp. each chili powder and black pepper, 1 Tbsp. each garlic and onion powders, 2 tsp. ground sage and 1 tsp. dry mustard. Blend thoroughly and rub thickly over the ribs. If desired you can do this the night before cooking and refrigerate until needed.
Ribs can also be cut apart after they are roasted.
