Instructions
-
Coating Apples with Melted Snickers
-
1
Insert wooden sticks into bottom of apples, leaving approximate three inches exposed for easy handling. Remove any stems and set apples aside.
-
2
Add two tbsp. of water to 3/4 of the caramel candy and melt slowly in double boiler. Stir frequently using a wire whisk or wooden spoon. Once melted, the consistency should be thick but smooth so apples can be dipped easily and coated. If it appears too thick, add another tablespoon of water and mix thoroughly.
If you are using caramel apple wraps, follow manufacturer's instructions.
(Note: The remaining 1/4 of caramel candy is set aside for later use, if necessary). -
-
3
Cover the bottom of cookie sheet pans with wax paper with the wax sides down. Set one cookie sheet pan aside for later use.
-
4
Dip apples into melted caramel mixture. Ensure the entire apple is covered by rolling or spinning it in the caramel.
Note: If the caramel runs or drips from the apple or you can see the skin of the apple through the coating, your mixture is too thin and more caramel candy needs to be added. Add a few pieces of caramel at a time until you reach desired consistency. -
5
Places coated apples on a wax paper-covered cookie sheet pan and refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes.
-
6
Melt Snickers bars in double boiler slowly, stirring frequently until smooth.
-
7
Pour melted Snickers onto wax paper-covered cookie sheet pan. Smooth out into an even layer.
-
8
Roll caramel coated apples in melted Snickers, making sure to cover as much of the exposed caramel as possible. Return apples to cookie sheet pan and refrigerate for another 10 to 15 minutes.
