  1. Using Cell as Modem

    • 1

Obtain your phone's unlock code from Sprint. Sprint will not give you this number if you are calling on your own phone; they will only give you your phone's unlock code if your phone is malfunctioning, and calling Sprint on your own phone will indicate to them that your phone is working properly. So, you will need to use a different code in order to call Sprint. Using a phone that is not your own, dial Sprint's customer service number, (888) 211-4727. Listen to the menu and press the number that will route you to a customer service employee; claim to this employee that your phone is experiencing technical problems, and request your phone's six-digit unlock code.

    • 2

Dial ##DEBUGMENU# on your phone (this translates to ##332846368#); when prompted for your unlock code, enter it into the phone. Upon the entry of your unlock code, a menu should appear on your phone. On this menu, look for "Toggle NAI." Select this option and toggle the setting to "Off."

    • 3

Connect your phone to your computer via your phone's USB cable (this cable is sold with the phone, so you should be in possession of it already). Upon connection of your phone to your computer, your computer should automatically begin downloading and installing the CDMA modem drivers from your phone; should this not occur, you may download these drivers at http://www.soft32.com/download_173416.html.

Left-click your mouse cursor on the "Start" button at the bottom left of your screen. This will bring up the "Start" menu.

    • 5

On the "Start" menu, Scroll your cursor over the "Connect to" button; this can be found on the center right of the "Start" menu.

    • 6

Left-click your cursor on "Show all connections" on the menu that appears. A new window, titled "Network Connections," will pop up. Click your cursor on "Create a new connection"; this can be found in the upper-left portion of the window. This will bring up a window titled "New Connection Wizard."

    • 7

Start by clicking on "Next" in the "New Connection Wizard." On the next menu, select "Connect to the Internet" and then click on "Next" once again. Continue by selecting "Set up my connection manually" and pressing "Next" once more. Finally, select "Connect using a dial-up modem" and press "Next" a final time. A new menu will ask for an ISP name. What you type here is not relevant beyond its use in identifying the connection. Type in "Sprint" or choose your own name. Press "Next."

    • 8

Enter #777 in the new menu field and press "Next."

    • 9

Leave the "user name" and "password" fields blank on the next menu that appears. Press "Next" once again.

    • 10

Check the box next to "Create a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" on the final menu. This will make it easier to find the connection if necessary. Press "Finish."
Upon conclusion of the last step, your computer should automatically connect to the Internet.
