How to Clean Aluminum Wheel

If you have aluminum wheels on your vehicle, you probably have noticed the clean shine they had when you first purchased them. Over time, though, the weather and normal wear and tear can dull that shine. Your rims may end up looking nothing like they did before. You can actually bring back the clean shine of your aluminum wheels and keep them that way. You will just need to learn how to properly clean and polish them.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray one wheel with a commercially made aluminum-safe wheel cleaning solution.

    • 2

Work the solution into your wheel with a wheel brush. Work the bristles to get into every crevice in the wheel.

    • 3

Spray your wheels with a garden hose to remove all the cleaning solution.

    • 4

Clean each wheel the same way, one at a time. Rinse each wheel before moving to the next to avoid dried-on cleaning solution.

    • 5

Use a microfiber cloth to dry each wheel. This will help prevent water spots from forming as the wheel air dries.
