How to Easily Make Your Own Google Maps
Google Maps offers a way for anyone to create a personalized, online map. You can share these maps with friends or the general public. You can use Google maps to create driving directions, plan a road trip or show off landmarks in your town. To make a Google map you must have a Google account. These accounts are free and very easy to set up.

Sign in to your Google account.

Click on "Maps." On the left side of the page you will then see a text link titled "My Maps." Click on that link.

Click on "Create a New Map," which you will again find on the left side of the screen.

Add a title and a description for your map. You can come back and change this later.

Decide if you want to keep your map unlisted, or private, so that only you can view it, or if you want to make it public so that it will be included in all Google Maps searches by the general public. Click the appropriate button below the description box.

Select the icons that you need from the left corner of the map. There is a selection tool for dragging the map and selecting objects on the map. There is also a placemark tool for pinpointing certain places on your map. The shape tool allows you to draw lines or shapes on the map.

Finish your map by clicking "Done" on the upper left-hand portion of the screen.
