How to Burn a DVD Video With Macbook Pro

Burning a DVD video on a Macbook Pro could not be easier with the proper software.

Instructions

    • 1

Check your computer for the iDVD program that comes standard with the iLife software suite from Apple. If you don't have it, it can be purchased on the Apple website.

    • 2

Open iDVD and start a new project.

    • 3

Title your DVD and select a menu theme in the first two fields from the top of the iDVD window.

    • 4

On the right hand side of the iDVD window, select your video and drag it in to the field that says "Drop Movies Here." Your video must be located in the Movie folder on your hard drive. If it is not, then copy it there and then drag it in to your project.

    • 5

Customize the various options available to you: rename the menu options, add pictures, or change the menu theme, for example.

    • 6

Insert a blank DVD into the disc drive located on the right hand side of your laptop body. When the computer has recognized the disc, click on the button labeled "Burn" in the bottom right hand corner of the iDVD window. Then wait. Your DVD will be finished in no time and ready to play on DVD players.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are other softwares available that perform similar tasks to the iDVD software; however, this is the only one that is produced by Apple.

  • If your Macbook Pro's battery dies when you're burning the DVD, your blank DVD will be ruined, so always use your power adapter when burning a DVD.
