Wash your hair using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. After your hair is washed and conditioned, dry it thoroughly. None of your hair should be wet, as wet hair can be damaged by hot styling tools.

Part the hair into small sections. You should only straighten about an inch of hair at a time.

Apply a small amount of pressing oil onto the section of hair. You do not need to use a lot, as you don't want your hair to be too oily or heavy. Massage it throughout the section of hair.

Using the pressing comb or flatiron, straighten the small section of hair. You should run the pressing comb or flatiron over the hair slowly, making sure it is completely straightened. Be careful not to burn your scalp.
