How to Create a Personal Stock Symbol Ticker Tape
Whether you're a novice or experienced investor, investing can be a difficult endeavor. However, there are ways to make the experience easier. One issue is trying to make sense of, and organize all of, the data. The more you customize your tools to show the exact information you need the more efficient your investing experience will be. One way to do this is by creating a personalized ticker tape with only the symbols you are interested in tracking.

1
Go to Yahoo! Finance. Yahoo! Finance is the most popular investment research site on the web, according to Alexa.com.
-
2
Sign up for an account with Yahoo! or sign into your account. This is the only way to create a personalized ticker tape.
-
-
3
Look up quotes for the stocks you are interested in. Once you've signed in to your account, Yahoo! will tailor the stocks you request quotes for and automatically add them to your ticker tape.
-
4
Go to the Yahoo! Finance home page and look up quotes for the stocks you would like to have on your personal ticker tape. You can do this by imputing the ticker symbol in the box next to Get Quotes and clicking on "Get Quotes." Each time you get a quote it will be added to your ticker tape.
-
5
Click on "Settings" in the box to the right of the ticker tape. Settings allows you to turn the scrolling feature on and off. It also allows you to increase or decrease the speed of the ticker tape. If your stocks aren't showing up, be sure to set the ticker tape settings to "My Recent Quotes."
