How to Paint Kitchen Aid Mixers
There are several reasons you may want to paint your KitchenAid mixer. For one, a new paint job can make the appliance look virtually new again. Things You'll Need
- Appliance paint (not spray)
- Brushes
- Dish soap
- Rags or towels
- Fan
- Masking tape

Wash your mixer thoroughly with soap and water. You'll need to be sure to get all grease and stains off the mixer prior to painting.

Allow the mixer to dry completely. Use a rag or towel to speed up the process.

Open a window and turn on your fan. Face the fan toward the open window to draw air out. This will provide you with proper ventilation.

Apply masking tape on any area of the mixer you do not want to paint. This may include the base, the controls or the inserts for the individual mixers.

Follow the directions on the appliance paint canister to prep the paint. Different brands will have different instructions.

Apply the paint in slow, even strokes. Be sure to brush in one direction so as to not leave any streaks or marks.

Allow the paint to dry while continually ventilating the room.

Do not purchase the spray appliance paint. Because KitchenAid mixers don't have a lot of surface area, you will want to apply the paint by brush.
Consider wearing a mask, goggles and gloves when handling appliance paint, as its fumes can be harmful.
