How to Remove Gummy Labels From Glass
Many glass items have gummy labels that can be difficult to remove. For instance, mayonnaise, pickle or jelly jars often come with a sticky label. Put hot, soapy water into a large bowl or dish tub. Place the glass in the bowl or tub. Make sure the gummy label is completely submerged in the hot water.

Allow the glass to soak in the hot water for about 20 minutes. Remove the glass from the water.

Use your fingers to begin rubbing off the paper portion of the label. Peel away as much of the glue as you can.

Scrub the glass with a dish brush to remove most of the remaining glue. Scrub the glass with the scrub pad to remove any traces of glue.

Rinse thoroughly. Dry with a clean washcloth to remove any remaining smudges.

Tips & Warnings
After removing the paper part of the gummy label, sprinkle some salt on the glue to add extra abrasive power.
To avoid glass breakage, allow any cold glass to come to room temperature before submerging in hot water.
