      Go to your local flooring specialist and bring along a photo or sample of the vinyl flooring in your home. To ensure you have enough, order approximately a foot of vinyl flooring.

      Take a utility knife to carefully cut away the damaged part of the floor with the burn mark. Try to cut along a pattern so that the new patch will look seamless. Use a blow dryer to soften the adhesive glue, making it easier to pull off.

      Clean the flooring underneath the old tile and scrape off any old glue. Cut out the new vinyl so that it matches the outline of the removed vinyl.
