How to Convert Audio to Imelody
Creating fun and unique ringtones is a skill that both kids and adults could benefit from. There are many ringtone file types, including iMelody, which was developed by the cell-phone company Sony Ericsson. IMelody files have the file extension .imy. To create ringtones, you can convert various audio files into iMelody files.

Go to the Website media-convert.com. This service converts hundreds of file formats and is one of the most versatile conversion services available. It is also free.

Select an audio file you want to convert by clicking the "Browse" button. The most common audio file types include WAV, MP3, and MP4.

Choose an output file format from the drop-down menu. This menu displays all of the possible output formats that a file can be converted to. Select "iMelody ringtone format (.imy)" from the menu.

Click the "OK" button to the right of the output drop-down menu. This will begin the conversion. A meter will display the progress of the conversion.

Save the converted file to your computer by clicking the link that Media-Convert provides after the conversion is over.

Tips & Warnings
Media-Convert's website also allows you to convert audio to eMelody, which is an older release of the iMelody format.
