How to Create a Group in Facebook
Anyone can create a group on Facebook. According to the site, groups are ideal for small groups of people with shared interests. Any time a member of the group posts on the site, the other members receive a notification by default.

Log in to your Facebook account. Select "Create Group" from the left panel of your Facebook home page. It is located at the bottom of the Groups section. If you already have several groups listed, click "More" to expand the section.

Type a group name into the section provided. Select an icon from the drop-down menu at the front of the name section.

Type the name of a friend you want to add to the group in the area provided. As you type, names from your friends list appear. Click on the correct name. Continue in the manner to add additional friends to the group.

Select a privacy setting. The options are "open," "closed" and "secret." Open groups are visible to all individuals and anyone may join. In closed groups, Facebook users see the name and member list of a group, but cannot view the contents until an administrator approves them. Secret groups cannot be found, even in a search. Once you select a privacy option, click "Create Group."

Click the action icon next to "Notifications" in the upper right corner of the new group page. Choose "Edit Group" from the drop-down menu.

Add photos and a description of the group. Click "Save."
