How to Use a Dxg Video Camera

If you are looking for a digital video camera that doesn't break the bank, you might want to try out the brand DXG. DXG video cameras are small portable cameras that rarely cost over $150 as of 2009. Some of the video cameras are capable of recording in high definition; however, this is a compressed video and does not have the same video and audio quality of standard high definition.

Instructions

1. Remove the clip on the back of the camera that covers the batteries. This clip can be slid off by applying pressure with your fingers and pulling down. Insert the batteries into the chamber. For most cameras, this is four AA batteries.

2. Insert the SD memory card into memory card slot. The location of this slot is going to vary depending on the DXG video camera model.

3. Power on the camera by pushing down the power button.

4. Press the "Record" button to begin recording. Push the "Record" button to stop recording. Each additional recording is going to be saved on the SD card as its own specific file.

5. Zoom the image by holding down the "Plus Zoom" button located on the top of the camera near the lens. Do note that the zoom is not optical, but digital. This means the lens does not actually zoom in, but the camera zooms into the image. This is going to create a more pixilated recording.

6. Press the "VCR" button, and all of the files are displayed on the LCD screen of the camera. Select the recording you want to watch, and press "Play" to watch the video.

7. Plug the USB data cable into the USB port on the camera. Plug the other end of the cable into a computer. Make sure the power on the camera is on. The computer is going to read the SD card in the camera as a removable storage device. Open "My Computer" ("Computer" in newer releases of Windows) and open the removable file icon. From here, you can drag and drop the video files onto the computer and view them when you desire.
