The siphon pump, also known as a transfer pump, is one of the most useful tools a mechanic can have in their tool box. The siphon pump is a great resource tool for mechanics who work in motorcycle shops, wrecking yards or in small engine repair shops. Prior to the invention of these pumps, a plastic hose and suction of your mouth was used as a practice to drain gasoline out of gas tanks. This method has proven to be dangerous.
