How to Fry Frozen Canned Salmon Patties
When you are searching for something different to eat that is tasty and affordable, consider some of the different ways you can prepare canned salmon. Salmon patties are not only delicious, they are economical as well. Combine canned salmon with breadcrumbs, minced onion and garlic, a beaten egg, and seasonings of your choice and you create delicious patties for frying. Make twice as many salmon patties as you need and freeze half for a quick and easy meal later. Then when time is short, simply pull the frozen patties from the freezer and fry them on the stove top. Things You'll Need
- Frozen salmon patties
- Frying pan
- Olive oil
- Spatula
- Butter knife
- Serving platter

Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil into the frying pan. Place the frying pan onto the stove top and set the burner to medium. Preheat the oil until it is sizzling.

Place the frozen salmon patties into the hot oil, taking care not to splatter hot oil on yourself.

Fry the salmon patties on the first side for approximately six to seven minutes. Monitor the frying at all times to prevent burning.

Flip the salmon patties to the second side with the spatula. Fry the patties on the second side for an additional six to seven minutes.

Check the salmon patties by inserting the tip of a butter knife into the center of the largest patty. The salmon patties are finished cooking when the insides are no longer pink. Remove the salmon patties from the frying pan when they are golden brown and completely done in the center.

Place the salmon patties on the serving platter and serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings
Freeze the salmon patties with layers of parchment paper or waxed paper between the patties to prevent sticking. Remove the patties from the freezer and fry them while they are still frozen.
Add cracker crumbs instead of breadcrumbs. Add Worcestershire sauce to give the salmon patties additional zing. If the patties are not binding together enough, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of flour.
