How to Load Music Into an MP3 Player With Windows Media

Windows Media Player (WMP) is capable of playing audio and video, displaying photos and syncing content to portable media players. The sync feature will work with most MP3 players (except iPod). A useful feature of WMP, and a reason to use its sync feature, is the built-in conversion software. If you need to transfer a file to your device that is not supported, WMP will convert the file automatically.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the WMP program on your computer.

    • 2

Click the "Sync" button located in the top right portion of the screen.

    • 3

Connect the MP3 player to your computer. All MP3 players come with Universal Serial Bus (USB) cables for transferring files (and charging). Wait until WMP detects your device.

    • 4

Drag and drop the audio files that you want to move to your MP3 player into the sync box on the left. Alternately, you can click "File," select "Open" and browse to the MP3s you want to transfer. If you've imported any audio files into the WMP library, you can transfer them by dragging and dropping them into the sync box on the left.

    • 5

Click "Begin Sync" to start loading the music onto your device.
