How to Remove Venetian Blinds to Clean

Venetian blinds are a type of window treatment with moveable slats that allow you to adjust the amount of light entering a room. The slats often collect dust from the air and debris from cleaning other nearby surfaces. Blinds that are located in a kitchen or bathroom are even more likely to get dirty. The blinds in those rooms collect grease from cooking and residue from hairsprays. To make sure you clean the blinds completely, you'll need to remove them from the wall.

Instructions

1. Use the blind's rotating wand to position the slats so they are completely open.

2. Pull the cord on the blinds to draw them up completely to the top of the window. It should look like a stack of slats.

3. Remove the two tabs that are located at each ends of the blinds. They hold the blinds into the bracket.

4. Tilt the top bar of the blinds upward, and pull the entire bar out of the brackets.
