Step 1
Ensure that you are using the Internet from a reasonably secure location. Conducting online banking from a public computer or while using an unsecured wireless network such as those in libraries or coffee shops makes you vulnerable to theft and identity theft. Make sure that you are using a secure password.
-
Step 2
Visit the Bank of America website. (See Resources 1, 2 and 3).
-
Step 3
Look for the text box under the words "Enter Online ID" in the upper left portion of the page. Input the online ID that you linked to your account.
-
Step 4
Select the state in which you opened your bank account on the following screen. If your Bank of America online ID is linked to multiple accounts from different states, you can choose either of the states in which you have a bank account in order to proceed.
-
Step 5
Look at the image under the red text words "Your Sitekey." If you recognize the image from when you set up your online account, proceed to enter your passcode in the text box below. Your passcode is not the same as your PIN. You created your passcode when you registered for online banking. If you have forgotten your passcode, follow the link that says "Reset Passcode" to answer a personal question and have the new passcode sent to the e-mail linked to your bank account.
