How to Remove an iPod Touch Protective Screen

When you open up the iPod Touch from its original packaging, the screen is usually protected by a plastic screen around it. There are also screens that you can add to protect the iPod. In both instances, however, the protective screen will get dirty and you will need to remove it.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a corner of the protective screen that's farthest away from the touchscreen. If the screen is part of the original packaging, there will usually be a corner labeled for you.

    • 2

Place your fingernail underneath that corner of the iPod Touch and peel off the protective screen. If that doesn't work go to step 3.

    • 3

Use a piece of tape on the corner. Be sure that at least half of the tape is on the corner. Pull off the tape, and the screen will come with it.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you need to put on a new screen, be sure to test the adhesive on something else before applying it to the iPod.

  • Pull slowly. Do not try to rip the screen off, or you may tear the screen and cause more work to remove it.
