Make sure the wireless device switch on the body of the laptop is in the "On" position.

Locate the HP "Wireless Assistant" icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the desktop. The icon appears as an antenna with a signal emanating from it.

Right-click on the "Wireless Assistant" icon.

Select "Open HP Wireless Assistant" from the context menu.

Click the button labeled "Turn On" for the Wireless LAN entry. The HP Wireless Assistant is now enabled.
