How to Increase the Volume on a HP Laptop

The volume control on most HP laptops may be accessed in multiple ways. First, check the panel above the function keys for three volume control buttons. Many HP Pavilion models have a set of volume controls on the laptop case. The second way to increase volume on an HP laptop will work on all HP laptops with a sound card: by accessing the volume control icon in the system tray.

Instructions

1. Locate the Sound icon in the system tray at the lower right corner of the HP laptop's desktop. The Sound icon resembles a loudspeaker.

2. Click on the Sound icon.

3. Move the adjustment level up to increase the volume on the laptop.

Tips & Warnings

• Click the bottom button under the sound adjustment lever to mute sound.
