How to Tell If Guttate Psoriasis Is Drying Up
Guttate psoriasis appears as scaly patches on the skin and most commonly affects children and those under 30. It differs from plaque psoriasis in that the spots can be more widespread, are smaller and flare ups can be extremely acute in nature. Once treatment is applied, such as topical creams, the healing process happens rather quickly and is easy to spot.

1
Remove all of your clothing, and stand in a well-lit room.
-
2
Use the hand mirror to view harder-to-see spots, including your back, buttocks and inner thighs. Notice if the spots appear smaller than days prior and if their redness is beginning to fade. If plaque has built up, identify if this too has started to diminish.
-
-
3
Stand before the full-length mirror and examine your body. Identify if the spots seem to be lessening, if their color is lightening, if plaque is reducing and if the spots' size is diminishing.
-
4
Take a picture with the camera. You do not need to include your entire body, but be sure to capture at least the most affected areas.
-
5
Wait a couple more days after treatment and take another picture. Compare the results with the initial picture from several days prior. Having a side-by-side comparison available will help you identify if treatment is working, specifically if the size and number of spots is reducing, if the color is lightening and if the plaque is diminishing.
