How to Become a Business Finance Manager
Finance managers are needed in all areas of the business sector. Every large company or corporation has at least one finance manager on staff. As a finance manager, you'll be in charge of all the business' financial needs. This might include investments, financial reports and financial strategies. You could also have a different title, such as finance officer or cash manager, but still perform the same basic job function as a business finance manager.

Take all the business and math classes offered by your high school, specifically finance and economics classes. These types of classes will help prepare you for your college coursework. Study the material for each class carefully, and participate in class discussions. This will help you learn the material more effectively.

2
Earn a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Make sure your major is relevant to your future career as a business finance manager. Possible majors include accounting, business, economics or finance. Be sure to excel in all your business and finance courses. If you find the course material to be too difficult, you might want to reconsider your career choice.

Consider earning a master's degree in a relevant field, such as economics, business or finance. Many companies, especially banks, would hire a finance manager with a master's degree and no work experience over a finance manager with a bachelor's degree and a few years of work experience. If you choose not to earn a master's degree, target your job search to companies that offer more extensive training programs. You can find out about a company's training programs by visiting their website or contacting their human resources department.

Apply for open finance manager positions at local businesses by submitting your resume and a cover letter. Job openings can be found in a variety of places, including the career page of company's websites, online job boards and your local newspaper. Make sure you have someone you trust proofread your resume and cover letter before submitting them. One typo or misspelled word could get your resume tossed, regardless of your education, skills and experience. Once you're hired by a company or corporation, you will have successfully become a business finance manager.
