How to Store Raw Peanuts
Buying peanuts in bulk can save you money, but how you store raw peanuts once you get them home determines whether you spent your money well. Improperly stored raw peanuts turn rancid and you cannot eat them. Stored correctly, raw peanuts provide a nutty source of protein for several months after purchase. How you store your raw peanuts depends on the peanuts have been shelled or not and whether you have raw or green peanuts. Rarely seen outside of peanut-growing areas, green raw peanuts have a very short shelf life. Keep your nuts for future roasting, making peanut butter or eating out of hand.
