How to Prepare a Car for Junk
When a car has been in a serious accident or is too old to run, it may not be worth selling. However, it's still possible to get money from the junk parts of your car by calling a junk service. A junk service will pay you for the parts of the car rather than have it go to waste.

Remove all personal items from the car. These include CDs, jumper cables, stereo equipment and important documents. Thoroughly check the trunk and the rest of the car for anything else you want to save.

Uninstall all aftermarket performance parts. Remove any modifications done under the hood and to the rest of the car as well.

Set up an appointment. Schedule a tow truck to take your car to the junkyard.

Locate your title. Give your title and car keys to the towing service when the tow truck arrives. Order a copy of the title if you are unable to find it.
