How to Buy Good Teacher Gifts
It's that time of year again; time to buy teacher gifts. For many of us, it is a challenge to come up with a nice gift for our kids teachers without breaking the bank. Let's face it, most teachers do not need another coffee mug or #1 teacher magnet to add to the probably very large collection. Here is a guide to follow while shopping for that perfect teacher gift.
Things You'll Need

1
Make a list. If you have more than one child, you will need a list of each of your children's teachers. You may want to include additional teachers such as Art, gym, and Spanish teachers.
-
2
Set your budget. Christmas gifts are not expected by teachers and should never be a burden for you. If your budget allows, your budget could be $5-25.00 per teacher.

3
Gather ideas. Have your child ask their teacher what kinds of hobbies they have or what they enjoy outside of school. This will give you an idea of something to purchase for them.
-
4
Write a letter. All teachers love to be appreciated. If your child has an extra special teacher, you can write them a letter expressing your gratitude. Include specific ways the teacher goes above and beyond to make your child's learning experience better. Make a copy of this letter for the principal and the superintendent. Also, you can request the principal keep a copy of the letter in the teacher's file for future reference. You can be assured this would indeed be a very special and generous gift.

Consider a gift for the classroom. With serious budget cuts, most teachers put a lot of their own money into their classrooms. Every teacher loves a gift for their classroom. Books, pencils, notebooks, glue, scissors, hand sanitizer, tissues, etc ... are all excellent ideas.
