How to Grow a Weeping Siberian Pea Tree
The weeping Siberian pea shrub (Caragana Arborescens "Pendula") is a delicate-looking small shrub or tree that blooms yellow flowers in late May. A member of the bean family, the weeping pea tree grows 4 to 8 feet in height with a 3- to 6-foot spread, depending upon variety. It has a weeping growth habit and is commonly used as an accent planting. Siberian weeping pea trees don't do well in hot weather and grow best within zones 2 through 8 on the U.S. Department of Agriculture Plant Hardiness Zone Map. Does this Spark an idea?

Grow the weeping Siberian pea tree in full sun or partial shade.

Water only when there is less than 1 inch of rain a week. Check the moisture around the tree with a finger stuck into the soil and water only if the top inch is dry. Be careful not to over water the pea tree.

Feed the weeping Siberian pea tree with a 10-10-10 analysis fertilizer, in the amount suggested on the package. Fertilize it in the beginning of April, end of May, beginning of July and late October. Wash foliage with water from the hose if fertilizer granules land on it.

Prune the weeping Siberian pea tree in spring to remove damaged, broken and dead branches. Cut them back to their points of origin.
