How to Make Safari Browser for Windows Faster
The Safari browser was originally made exclusively for Mac computers. It was not until recently that Mac released a new version for Windows users. However, the windows version has its shortcomings, especially in regards to speed. The "Top Sites" feature of Safari is one of the culprits of these speed issues. Whenever you open a new tab, Safari conveniently gives you a list of the Top Sites you usually view. Unfortunately, this eats up a lot of time on Windows. This article explains how to take out this feature to speed up Safari on Windows.

Open Safari. Go to "Start," then "Programs," and click "Safari."

Click "Edit," then "Preferences" to open Safari's Preferences window.

Click the "General" tab. Click the list box next to "New Windows Open With:" and set it to "Empty Page". Do the same for "New Tabs Open WIth:".

Close the Preferences window. Whenever you open new tabs or windows now, you will see an empty page instead of your "Top Sites".
