How to Uninstall AVG Free Antivirus
Remove AVG anti-virus software to replace it with another anti-virus product, or to correct problems with the application. AVG comes with an uninstall utility you can use to remove the software if it develops conflicts with any updates or tools on your computer. You can download and reinstall a fresh copy to try it again. Pick one of two ways to uninstall AVG.

Click the "Start" button in the bottom left corner. Roll the cursor up onto the "All Programs" selection to view the list of programs on the computer.

Roll the cursor over the "AVG Free" listing for your anti-virus package. Click the "Uninstall AVG Free" choice from the options that appear.

Wait for the uninstall feature to scan the computer for all components of the anti-virus software. Click the "Yes" button when the dialog box appears asking, "Do you want to remove AVG Free from your computer?"

Restart the computer when the uninstall is complete. Check the programs list to be sure AVG is no longer present. Go to step 5 if the software is still installed on the computer.

Visit AVG.com and download the removal tool. Click the "Support Center" tab to reveal a new list of tab selections, then click on the "Download" tab. Click the "Tools Download" selection. This brings you to a choice of AVG removal tools for 32-bit or 64-bit computers. Select one of the options. Click the "Run" button on the dialog box to download and activate the anti-virus uninstall application. Restart the computer when directed to do so and be sure the software has been removed.
