How to Use Vonage for Fax & Phone
Vonage is a low cost VoIP provider. To use the service for phone and fax, you will need a broadband Internet connection and a Vonage phone adapter or router. You will also need to set up your account with Vonage. If you are switching from a land based phone system, you may still be able to keep your existing phone number. Once you have a phone number with Vonage for either voice or fax, you can take those numbers with you should you move.

Vonage provides its own phone adapter, which also functions as a router. You can also use other routers, such as the Linksys router from Cisco. The phone adapter connects between the broadband modem and the computer.

Next you'll need a phone to connect to the router and a fax if you plan to have a dedicated fax line. If you connect a wireless phone that can can handle multiple wireless phones, every room or office can have a phone. No wires needed. You will, however, be limited to making only one call at a time. Vonage also offers options for using wired phones. A good choice for the fax is a multi-function printer with fax capability.
