Installing the Lift
-
1
Open the trunk lid and pull back the carpet to expose the metal floor.
-
2
Position the lift arm in the upright position and place the unit in the trunk of the vehicle. You will need to set the base of the lift unit as close to the side and rear opening of the trunk as you can. Make sure the arm of the lift will be able to swing in a 90 degree arc into and out of the trunk.
-
-
3
Mark the location of the base plate on the floor of the trunk with a felt tip marker. Make a mark in each screw hole so you will know where to drill the pilot holes.
-
4
Remove the lift arm and the base plate from the trunk and drill pilot holes in the marks you made with a power drill.
-
5
Place the base plate over the pilot holes, insert a washer over the screws then place the screws in the pilot holes. Secure the screws into the base plate using the power drill.
-
6
Fold the carpet back onto the floor and use a utility knife to cut the carpet around the base plate mount for the lift arm.
-
7
Place the lift arm on the base plate to complete the installation.
Connect the Wiring
-
8
Run the electrical cable from the battery in the front of the vehicle to the lift location in the trunk. Look for an opening in the firewall to run the wire from the engine compartment to the inside of the vehicle.
-
9
Unscrew the trim along the side of the inside of the door with a screwdriver and place the wiring underneath to hide it.
-
10
Connect the wiring to the lift unit by using the male and female quick connectors with the red electrical cable on the lift. Place the end of the electrical cable into the male quick connector and crimp it with a pair of pliers. You then need to connect the male and female connectors together.
-
11
Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery terminal with a wrench. Connect the electrical wire to the 30 amp fuse in the engine compartment with the butt connector. Secure the wire with a zip tie.
-
12
Connect one end of the ring connector to the 30 amp fuse and the other end to the positive battery terminal. Re-connect the positive battery cable to the battery terminal to complete the wiring.

Tips & Warnings
The base of the scooter lift needs to be on a flat surface to work correctly.
Use electrical tape or zip ties to secure the electrical wiring.
If the base is not secured to a flat surface, the lift arm may not perform correctly because it will be sitting at an angle.
