Open the tanning bed and locate the bulb(s) that need to be changed. Twist the bulb just as you would if you were replacing any standard fluorescent light bulb.

Note the tanning bed's make, model and year as well as the size and wattage of the bulbs used by that particular unit. Most tanning beds designed for home use require F71, 100-watt type bulbs with metal pins on each end.

Clean the tanning bed's acrylics with tanning bed cleaner before replacing bulbs.

Install each bulb by slipping the end prongs into place and then twisting the bulb for half a turn, just as you would if you were replacing a regular fluorescent bulb. Replacng all bulbs, not just the ones that are not working, will ensure an even tan.

Wipe down the tanning bed with a clean cloth after replacing bulbs.
