How to Reset the Oil Light on an Impala

by Justin Cupler

The oil life system in an Impala measures the amount of time before your next oil change is due. This system uses the amount of mileage elapsed to determine when the oil change light comes on. After the oil is changed, the light must be reset; it will not reset itself automatically. Every few years GM changed the process in which the oil light is reset in the Impala.
