How to Create a Vent Server

Using Ventrilo's voice-over-IP software is easy when you have a known server you can connect to, but if there is no available server, you need to create your own. Software for setting up a Vent server is available for free from the Ventrilo website, and once it is installed, a server can be created quickly and easily using the program's default settings. Ventrilo Windows Server software also allows for complete customization of server options.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose "Install" from the "Service" menu under "VentSrv" to configure the server to launch automatically at start up and run in the background in Windows 2000, NT or XP.
