Removing the labels off of tags and merchandise can be very frustrating. If the label has been on for a lengthy amount of time, the label can become sticky and gummy when you try to remove it. These gummy labels can be found on collectible toys, candle jars, kitchenware and much more. If the label does not get completely removed, it makes the item look tacky.   • Dry cloth

Instructions

  1. Using Lighter Fluid

    • 1

      Wipe over the label with a clean, dry cloth. This should wipe away any debris or grim around the label.

      Place a small squirt of lighter fluid on the corner of a dry cloth.

      Rub the label with the corner of the wet cloth. Use gentle circular motions to rub the label.

      Try peeling off the label using your fingers. Start at the corner of the label and gently pull up and back.

      Repeat the steps if there is still parts of the label attached to the item. This will remove the remainder of the gummy label.

    Using Goo Gone

      Use a dry cloth to wipe the label clean. Remove any grim from the label before applying Goo Gone.

      Apply a small amount of Goo Gone directly to the label. Allow it to sit on the label for a minute.

      Use a dry cloth to gently rub the Goo Gone into the label.

      Try peeling off the label after rubbing the Goo Gone into it. Start at a corner and peel back gently.
