1
Rub the 100-grit sandpaper that comes with the repair kit onto the area of the chip or crack. For large cracks, this is a must, but smaller divots don't necessarily need sanding. Only if the crack is rugged, deep or very wide will it need to be smoothed. Completely smooth the edges until the crack is soft and not sharp on any edge.

2
Mix one part of the repair kit's cream hardener to six parts of the kit's filler in a disposable plastic bowl. Use the spatula within the kit to spread the mixture onto the crack or chip. Let the site dry for at least 10 minutes.

3
Sand the area with a small amount of water using the 100-grit sandpaper. Move your way through all the sandpaper sheets in the kit, from 220 up to 1,000, making sure the site is completely flush and smooth. Using water will help buff away the excess gently, leaving a blended patch that will appear as though the tub was never damaged. Blow-dry the area to be sure it is free from remaining moisture.

4
Place a dime-sized amount of base paint in a separate area of the tub. If the colors match, you may mix it with the atomizer in the spray bottle in the kit, and apply it directly to the patch site. However, if they do not match, blend a specified amount of base color to one of the tint bottles, per the color chart included with the kit. Wipe clean the test area with a paper towel; the paint is designed to adhere only to the epoxy mixture, it will not stick to your tub.

5
Buff out the area with the 1,000-grit paper to bring out a shine, after the site has dried for at least 24 hours.
