How to Block Callers With Verizon Phones

There are some people that you just don't want calling you for a number of reasons. If you have a Verizon phone, you can block these callers. This is done on the Verizon Wireless website in your account. There are two ways to do this. The first is to simply block from one up to five numbers in Spam Controls section. The other would be to buy a feature called Usage Controls. Both will block callers, but Usage Controls allows more options.

      Log onto your Verizon Wireless Account at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/employee/salp.jsp and click on the sign-in link at the top of the page.

      Insert your user ID and password and click Sign In.

      Click on My Verizon if you are not already there.

      Click on My Services.

      Click on Verizon Safeguards.

      Click on Spam Controls.

      Enter up to five phone numbers of those callers that you wish to block and click on Apply.

Tips & Warnings

  • Verizon also offers a more comprehensive option for blocking callers. It is the Usage Controls option and costs $4.99 per month. It is designed to allow the account holder to control a child's phone on the account.

  • Call Blocking expires after 90 days and must be renewed to remain in effect. Call Blocking on the Usage Controls option does not expire.
