How to Calibrate a One Touch Meter

The One Touch Ultra, One Touch Ultra 2 and One Touch UltraMini are blood monitors used by diabetic patients to analyze their blood glucose levels. The monitors analyze drops of blood placed on test strips, which are entered into the machine. Several different test strips are available for analyzing blood glucose. Each type of test strip has a code that must be entered into the monitor for proper blood glucose analysis.

Instructions

Insert an unused test strip with the contacts facing up into the One Touch monitor. Do not bend the strip as it will not operate the monitor. The display screen will turn on and show the code number used for the last test or a "--" if it is the first time you are using the monitor.

Press the "C" button repeatedly on the One Touch Ultra if the number on the screen does not match the number on the test strip vial. If using the One Touch Ultra 2 or One Touch Ultra Mini, press the up and down arrow buttons to change the code to match the vial.

Wait approximately six seconds once the correct code number is entered for the monitor to save the code setting and move on to the testing phase. If you are using the One Touch Ultra 2, you can press the "OK" button to advance to the testing phase.
