How to Get Rid of Pimples on My Neck
Pimples can develop as a result of many different conditions, including hormones that are imbalanced, skin that is oily, an improper diet and stress. When pimples develop in sensitive areas such as the on the earlobes, neck or eyelids, extra precautions need to be taken when caring for them to minimize pain and reduce redness and swelling.
Things You'll Need
- Acne soap or soap designed for oily skin
- Washcloth
- Cotton ball
- Antiseptic
- Cotton swabs
- Bandage

Soak a clean washcloth in warm water. Wring out and set aside.

Secure long hair off of your face. Saturate your face and neck by splashing with warm water.

Pour soap into your hands and lather well. Apply soap to your face and neck using the tips of your fingers, gently massaging with a circular motion.

Rub your face and neck lightly with the washcloth, continuing to massage in the same circular motion. Be sure to use gentle strokes when cleansing the pimple to reduce discomfort. Repeat these steps 3 times each day.

Place washcloth in hot water and soak well. Set it aside and let it cool down so that it is still hot but cool enough to be placed on the skin without burning.

Wring it out well and apply the washcloth directly on the pimple on the neck. Use the washcloth as a hot compress and be sure to apply mild pressure to decrease inflammation and redness, leaving compress on pimple for 5 minutes to shrink it.

Apply a mild antiseptic to the pimple with a cotton ball, to help eradicate any trace of bacteria that may still be left on the skin. Avoid touching the pimple or any area of your face or neck with your fingers to prevent the spread of bacteria and oil.

Reheat the washcloth in hot water as before and place on the pimple, leaving it there for 25 seconds.

Place 1 cotton swab on each side of the pimple, making sure they are close to the base of the pimple, not the center. Push the swabs together towards the center of the pimple, using light pressure. Reheat the washcloth in hot water and repeat the process until pus begins to seep out of the pimple.

Dab any pus off of the pimple with a fresh cotton ball. Wipe any excess pus that may have leaked onto the skin. Repeat steps until all pus is extracted and only blood and clear liquid leaks out.

Leave the pimple untouched for 2 to 3 minutes. Wash your entire face and neck with warm, soapy water.

Tips & Warnings
Resist the urge to scratch, scrape or pick at the pimples, which may lead to infection, skin irritation or scarring.
If pus is not extracted from the pimple when light pressure is applied, refrain from applying greater pressure. Instead, repeat the entire process and try again. If pus is still not extracted, the pimple may not be ready. Repeat steps at a later time.
